What we reviewed
The intake, plus extracts from the incident, complaint and risk registers. A roster of nine workers and a screening index. A draft incident and complaint workflow, an evidence folder map, and two examples with identifying details removed.
What was not supplied
Five things were missing. They are a policy index or readable samples, registration or deadline correspondence, a complete worker matrix, fully traced examples, and a complete evidence index. The date here is a planning fact, not a reviewed notice.
Assumptions and limitations. The pathway, the registration groups, the date evidence and the implementation status are all unverified. Ratings rest on the material supplied here. They may change when readable material or a clearer scope arrives.
1. Registration status and pathway fit Action needed
Your intake describes an unregistered SIL provider with nine workers and three participants. You are aiming for an initial Certification with SIL or high intensity, before the date you gave us. The status, the groups and the date are all client stated. No status or deadline correspondence was supplied. Confirm the scope and pathway before building the pack.
Priority action. Decide in writing which supports and sites you are applying to register. That decides your pathway. Everything else in the pack follows from it.
2. Policy currency Action needed
We did not receive a policy index or readable policy samples for your SIL and high intensity supports. That leaves a material gap in the documents available for this review.
Priority action. Start the smallest current policy set. Cover governance, incident, risk, worker screening, SIL and high intensity scope. Give each one a named owner and a review date.
3. Registers: incident, complaint and risk Needs attention
All three registers have named owners, defined fields and review dates. Escalation, retention, closure and supporting evidence are still incomplete. The controls are usable but not yet complete.
This review tests control and traceability.
Priority action. Complete the escalation, retention and closure fields, then attach the supporting evidence behind each register entry.
4. Worker screening and HR records Needs attention
The nine workers reconcile, and some screening and induction material is visible. Six things are tracked in different places: screening status, recheck dates, induction, competency, training and supervision. Put them in one matrix. Completing that matrix makes worker assignments easier to verify. The limit here is tracking completeness.
Priority action. Close the screening, recheck, induction, competency, training and supervision fields in the worker matrix.
5. Incident and complaint handling practice Needs attention
The draft process covers receiving, recording, escalation, assessment, closure and learning. We could not review the process document before the cut off. One example did not trace to a register row.
Priority action. Take one real incident and one real complaint, with names removed, through the six step workflow. Link both to register records.
6. Evidence organisation Needs attention
The folder and two examples were easy to find. An evidence index is still needed to link each record to a standard, owner, date and file location.
Priority action. Complete the evidence index with owner, date, status, privacy and location fields for two examples.
Your application timing
Did you deliver SIL before 1 July 2026, and are you still unregistered? A valid application lodged on or before 30 September 2026 lets you keep delivering while the Commission assesses it. If it is refused, that protection ends.
The date in this example came from the provider and was not checked against a notice. See the assessment references and sources. Confirm your position with the Commission or a qualified adviser before relying on the date.
Suggested next step
This example is red on registration status and policy currency. Confirm the scope and clear the policy gap first. Start with a registration preparation project. Monthly support can begin once those gaps are cleared.
What this example provider would pay. On this pathway, Certification with SIL or high intensity, our fee is A$3,290. You pay A$1,645 on signing and A$1,645 at final pack delivery. These are the amounts you pay. We do not charge GST.
With nine workers on one site, the monthly support tier would be Standard at A$349 a month. Month one is included with a registration preparation project. Any engagement confirms its own scope and pathway in writing before paid work starts.
Written debrief
This report format includes a written debrief and email follow up. A live engagement states its own scope, price and terms.
Scope
This scorecard is a desktop readiness review of the information and samples supplied. It is not an audit, a registration decision or legal advice. Your auditor and the Commission make their own decisions. The limits here do not remove any right or remedy the law says cannot be removed.
